RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT! THE RIDDLE OF MASTER LU

In the 1930s, Robert Ripley made a name for himself by travelling the world in search of cultural oddities for his Odditorium museum of curiosities. He became quite famous for his daily newspaper comic strips and airing live radios reports from strange far-off places like a snake-pit or a cavern. A true adventurer who would later be referred to as the 'Real Indiana Jones', he makes for an intriguing subject matter for a point n' click adventure game...

X-FILES: SEASON 1 - PART 3

Episode 9 was where I began my X-Files journey. "Space" may not have been the best the show has to offer, and it is often considered amongst the worst, but I have a soft spot for it. It proved to that this wasn't just another American detective show but something that incorporates horror and science-fiction in an intelligent and exciting way - something that the advert was not so successful at.

JURASSIC PARK COLLECTION: VOLUME 2

I still have a soft spot for Steven Spielberg's sequel to Jurassic Park. Much like the first movie, there were many games based on the blockbuster. Are they as varied and vibrant as those that came before? Let's find out...

JURASSIC PARK: OPERATION GENESIS

In  2001, the third Jurassic Park movie disappointed cinemagoers to such an extent that it would take fourteen years for Jurassic World to rectify its tarnished reputation. Video games had a far easier ride with several games being released throughout the years. One of the most overlooked is perhaps the best of the lot; a 2003 tycoon game named Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis.

JURASSIC PARK COLLECTION: VOLUME 1

Jurassic Park is awesome. Anyone who says otherwise has only seen the third movie. With Jurassic Park being released in the UK today, I'd thought we'd take a look at some of the games inspired on the franchise. There's a ton based on the first movie alone so let's dig in...

PYROTECHNICA

Pyrotechnica, created by Colin Parrott, was released by Psygnosis in 1995, only a few months after Descent. But the release is not the only thing the two games share...

X-FILES: SEASON 1 - PART 2

Season 1's second disc on the DVD set continues to expand the show beyond it's initial alien premise. It even contains one of the best and well loved episodes of the entire series that is scarily plausible.

RACE MANIA

Race Mania is a fun top-down racing game from 1995 that plays a lot like Micro Machines, the absolute classic that was once the cause of many a broken friendship. This Flair developed racer takes this one step further by demanding underhanded strategies if you want to get anywhere. Its slogan is "Fair Play Strictly Prohibited" after all...

SIMANT: THE ELECTRONIC ANT COLONY

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be an ant? Probably not, but Maxis attempts to answer this question in 1991 with SimAnt, one of the many lesser known games in their Sim franchise.

SIMPARK: THE NATURE PARK YOU BUILD AND EXPLORE!

SimPark looks like your standard management strategy game. It is part of Maxis' Sims franchise after all, but this 1996 release has something different about it. It's, ya know, for kids...
